Tornadoes Sighted In Several Nebraska Counties
Some damage to buildings, crops
June 14, 2001
At least two people got clear video footage of a tornado between Malcolm and Seward. High winds slammed the rural area east of Seward and forced the closing of U.S. Highway 34. The road was closed after high winds picked up propane and anhydrous ammonia tanks and scattered them around an area covering several hundred yards.
From South Sioux City in the northeast to the Nebraska/Kansas border in the southeast, to Custer County in the central part of the state, high winds reportedly caused scattered damage to crops, homes and outbuildings. A tornado was spotted in Thayer County. There were no reports of damage.
